Grid Tied

• The most common type of solar system installed
• Connect directly to the Utility Power Grid
• Eligible for tax rebates and state and regional incentives
• Does not use batteries
• Does not function when the grid is powered off

Off Grid

• Used primarily in remote power applications such as cabins and RV's
• Works with stand alone inverter and batteries

• Uses batteries which are expensive

• Incorporates a grid tied inverter with transfer switch in case the grid goes down
• Able to sell power back to the utility

• Uses batteries for backup power and emergencies
